The San Sebastian racecourse has two racing seasons: one in the spring and one in the summer. The first season begins in March and ends in May, while the summer races are held between July and September. Inaugurated in 1916 by King Alfonso XIII, it is the second largest racetrack in Spain after Madrid. Every summer, the Copa de Oro races attract San Sebastian's high society to attend the competitions.

Inaugurated in 1993, the Anoeta stadium, also known as the Reale Arena, is the home of the city's club: Real Sociedad. This temple of local soccer can accommodate up to 40,000 people. It is also a place that rugby players from Bayonne and Biarritz in particular, frequent during matches that are occasionally relocated to San Sebastian.
