BANDERA DE LA CONCHA

Celebrated for the first time in 1879, the Bandera de La Concha (literally "flag" of La Concha) is the most prestigious drag regatta of the season - former fishing boats turned racing boats. Every year, on the first two Sundays in September, more than 100,000 people come to attend this major event in the Basque calendar. Around twenty teams compete in this race, which consists of sailing three nautical miles to a buoy and then returning as quickly as possible to the start line.
