PURIFICATION CHURCH

This neo-classical church with white walls and five grey domes has been very suitably restored for the pleasure of the eyes of the locals and the few visitors who venture into the area. It is located between the Goritskiy Monastery and St. Daniil's Monastery and was actually built in 1776 to serve as a refuge for monks when they went out into the world and travelled between their estates. A nearby pink and white building houses a painting museum.
