This is it, Europe has its first "star sanctuary", and it takes place on the island of Ynis Enlli, in Wales. As a reminder, this distinction concerns only 17 places in the world. The label "Dark Sky Sanctuary" is awarded to territories that offer exceptional conditions for stargazing, due to their low light pollution. A pride for the two guardians of the island, and another good reason to go to the coasts of Wales, telescope in hand. Bardsey Island, from its English name, joins those incredible places in the world for stargazing, like the atolls of the South Pacific. More information on the Futura website.
