Miyako-jima is the main island of the Miyako Islands, in the Sakishima Archipelago of the Ryūkyū Islands in Japan. This island offers a warm and pleasant climate all year round. It is one of the islands of the Ryūkyū that has managed to keep some traditional remains. It also escaped destruction and bombing during World War II. Covered in sugar cane, Miyako-Jima is a small paradise for nature lovers, beach goers and divers.
