Ryukyu Mura is what you would call a theme park, with some additional ethnology and anthropology pretensions. The experience is great fun for children, but not outstanding. There are many performances in the village, including Taiko drumming, dancing, concerts, parades and re-enactments of historical ceremonies. Visitors also have the opportunity to eat popular Okinawan food and buy a wide range of local handicrafts.
