This very impressive cape is located at the western end of the Shimane peninsula. There is the famous shrine of the same name, classified as "Important Cultural Property of Japan". It is dedicated to two deities, the sun goddess Amaterasu and her brother Susanoo. Once the visit of the shrine is over, go along the coastal promenade to admire a splendid view. For the most courageous, meaning those who are not afraid of heights, you can climb to the top of the lighthouse, the highest in the country (63 m above the water). A fantastic setting not to be missed.
