SHUKKEI-EN
Located 700 meters from the train station, this vast 4-hectare garden takes up residence east of the castle and on the banks of the Kyobashi-gawa. It was created in 1620 by Ueda Sōko, a Japanese tea ceremony master. It was then part of the residence of Nagaarika Asano. It was destroyed in 1945, then rebuilt in 1951. You can still contemplate its lake, islets and Chinese-style bridge, which refers to its Chinese model of Hangzhou, the former capital of the Song. You will be able to see there in particular a beautiful tea pavilion (Seifu).
