The Myō'ō in, is a temple today Shingon with a beautiful five-storey pagoda in the Muromachi period, as well as an hon-dō from the Kamakura period. Originally it was built in 807 by Ereader Daishi (Kukai) on behalf of the Ritsu Buddhist school.
