FORTIFIED CASTLE

It has a history of over 800 years. It was first built as a fortress on top of Mount Kinka during the Kennin era (1201-1203). Oda Nobunaga, a famous general of the Sengoku period, occupied the castle and became its master in 1567. The castle became a lively center of activity. The present castle was rebuilt in 1956 with reinforced concrete. There are exhibitions and an observatory on the top floor. The castle is illuminated from sunset to 11 pm. It is located at the top of Kinka, which can be reached by cable car.
