TAKAYAMA MUSEUM OF HISTORY AND ART

This free museum is located around the gardens. Visitors can explore exhibits related to Takayama's history, culture, literature and local arts in 14 themed rooms. Themes include the Takayama Festival, town houses, the origins of the castle town, and writers and artists associated with the area. Be careful not to confuse this with the Hida Takayama Art Museum, which closed on May 31, 2020.
