Designated a National Historic Site by the government, this temple was founded over 1200 years ago. It belongs to the Tendai Buddhist sect. It was established directly at the foot of a high rock formation. The main image of the place is a stone image of Bishamon-ten, which stands directly against the rock, concealing a cave where sacred relics are secretly kept. The present structure was rebuilt in 1961. The view over the rice paddies is sublime.
