HAGURO-SAN (419 M)

It is the most accessible of the three mountains. From the village, you can reach the summit by bus or on foot, but... 2466 steps are waiting for you! The ascent, which lasts nearly an hour, begins after crossing a large torii. The path is lined with 300 to 500 year old cedars. Note the beautiful 14th-century five-story pagoda, Gojū-no-tō. You can take a short break at a teahouse offering a beautiful view of the surroundings. Several shrines occupy the top of Haguro-san, including the Gosaiden which houses the three deities of the mountain.
