This is the teahouse that "watches the ripples of small waves on the sea". Located at the tip of Tsukimizaki Cape, this teahouse is also known as the Moon Contemplation Residence (tsukimi-goden). It is listed as an important cultural heritage of Japan (Jūyō bunka-zai). The view from the terrace is sublime. It's also possible to enjoy a matcha accompanied by a wagashi, while contemplating the panorama. The Matsushima Museum, on the same site, boasts, among other things, a small collection of calligraphy.
