Considered the "father of Japanese whisky", Masataka Taketsuru studied techniques in Scotland before founding the Nikka distillery in Yoichi, then Miyagikyo, nestled in the Miyagi mountains. Surrounded by idyllic scenery, this distillery offers free guided tours lasting around 70 minutes (discovery of production methods, stills and cellars), followed by a tasting session.
