Bansuisodo is the former home of the poet Bansui Doi, famous for his lyrics to Kojo no Tsuki ("The Moon over the Castle Ruins"). Born in Sendai, Bansui was also a professor of English literature at Tohoku University, actively contributing to local education. He spent the last three years of his life in this house, now transformed into a small literary museum. On display are his personal objects, calligraphies, paintings and photographs. A visit, free of charge, to immerse yourself in the poet's world.
