AIZU BUKEYASHIKI
Historic reconstruction of samurai residences from the Edo period, with rooms open to the public that are not to be missed
Aizu Bukeyashiki is a historic reconstruction site of samurai residences from the Edo period. The preserved buildings include the residences of the former chief advisor Tanomo Saigo, a magistrate's office, and a replica of the "Rinkaku" teahouse at Tsuruga Castle. The exploration of all the rooms open to the public is very interesting. You can see the way of life of the samurai and the traditional culture of Aizu, especially through the glass engraving and the costumes of the villagers of the Edo period.
