The best time to visit these two islands (along with Rebun-tō) is in summer, between June and September. In Rishiri-tō, the volcano (Rishiri-zan) rises to 1720 m in the center of the island, circular in shape. There are two main ports: Oshidomari and Kutsugata. It will take you a little more than 6 hours to climb the volcano. You can also rent bicycles and ride around the island for about 40 kilometers in 6 hours.
