Ce canal qui possède un accès direct à la mer est le lieu de l'animation de la ville. Les anciens entrepôts qui le bordent aménagés en café et restaurant très animés donnent une bonne idée de l'activité passée de ce port. Dommage que le quai coté café ne soit pas mieux restauré.

le canal d'otaru est celebre au japon car il a ete le lieu de tournage d'un film culte. il a une atmosphere très romantique que les japonais recherchent pour y emmener leur moitié.
Ce canal est egalement interessant pour la proximité avec le quartier des verriers.
A voir absoluement.
