NOBORIBETSU BEAR PARK

Noboribetsu Bear Park is located in the upper part of the city. A cable car takes you there in five minutes. In the park, and depending on the period, up to 100 bears can be seen. There is an enclosure where bears beg for small salmon kibbles which you can buy in a shop. You can enter an enclosure via a glass cage to see them up close. There are also Ainu handicraft shops, a small museum with a rooftop observatory for viewing the caldera and Lake Kuttara, and a restaurant.
