Located north of Sakurai, this shrine, one of the oldest in the Archipelago, has the highest torii. It seems that this privilege gives it a particularly sacred character. The shrine is quite unique in its kind, as it has no images or sacred objects. Its role is supposed to be that of serving Mount Miwa, the mountain on which it is located. The mountain itself is the main shrine where the divine spirit is enshrined. Many pilgrims come to visit this temple, especially on the 1st and 15th of each month.
