CENTRO CULTURAL TIJUANA

The federal government decided to build this modern building to strengthen the Mexican identity of the people living on the border with its big neighbour. Popular culture and contemporary expressions are equally represented there. There is the Museo de Las Californias, the jardín Caracol where replicas of pre-Columbian statues are exhibited, a contemporary art centre (El Cubo), a theatre and an Imax Dome, known as "La Bola" (the ball) because of its globe shape, where films are projected on a giant 3D screen.
