Torrey Pines Golf Course

On the cliffs overlooking the Pacific, this municipal golf course is considered "one of the prettiest courses in America" by Golf Digest magazine. And with good reason: in addition to its breathtaking setting, the panoramas to which it gives access seem almost unreal in their contrasts and shades of color. It was on the South Course at Torrey Pines that Tiger Woods won a playoff event at the 2008 US Open. Another star player, Phil Mickelson, also played on the course, this time as a child.
