There are three Visitor Centers, close to the park entrances. To the north, the Oasis visitor center located in the village of Twentynine Palms. In the west, the Joshua Tree visitor center located in the village of Johua Tree. To the south, Cottonwood Visitor Center is located 40 kilometres east of Indio's town.

Ce parc national vaut vraiment le détour. Se promener au milieu de ces magnifiques arbres mi palmiers, mi cactus et des formations rocheuses est un véritable enchantement et le jardin de cactus (Cholla) est l’occasion d’une très belle petite marche dans ce paysage aride mais grandiose.

Superbe petit parc. L’Arch Rock est une courte balade se terminant sur une arche en forme d’éléphant : à faire !
Le sentier dans Cholla cactus garden est une immersion dans un jardin épineux formé par des cactus particuliers (figuiers de barbarie ou jumping chollas).

Un visitor center efficace pour un parc qui mérite d'y consacrer quelques heures (au moins!). Nous y sommes passés en voiture et avons fait de petites promenades (30 minutes à 1h à chaque fois) pour un total d'une demi-journée.
N'oubliez pas de prendre de l'eau et à manger si vous restez un peu de temps sur place!
