The owners of this bed and breakfast are lovers of France. They transformed a motel into a small corner of Provence. In the afternoon, at 18 a. m., you can make a wine tasting with excellent appetizers.

stayed for a work retreat and wow! i am impressed! the new owners have done such a great job preserving the charm while adding much needed modern touches. where other stays write off certain needs, they’ve embraced and conquer them. as someone who really leans into their makeup bag i was pleasantly surprised to see a cloth in the bathroom with a little note explaining that it is specifically for removing makeup. i can’t tell you how many times i’ve accrued additional charges at previous stays for getting small stains on face towels even after i’ve applied makeup remover and face cleanser. that is just one of the many little details i noticed that proves this b&b really care about the guest. my room was beautiful and i was able to peak at some of the other rooms and they all have their own personal touches. it makes you feel truly like a guest to the establishment and not just a name on a reservation book. the staff is incredible! so kind and accommodating and peaceful, they really do a great job at contributing to the luxurious and calming energy this hotel provides while simultaneously taking calls, making cocktails, serving tables, AND preparing the food. what a bunch of hustlers! the main area is so calming, my colleague even mentioned that it was like having breakfast in a french bistro and i would definitely agree. it is also walking distance to the downtown area so if you want to explore you don’t have to worry about making any arrangements to and from the b&b and even if you did want to, i’m sure the staff would be happy to help. overall, loved it and can’t wait to find another reason to head back up.

Stayed at this gorgeous B&B with my coworkers as part of a company retreat. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. The complimentary Breakfast & evening hors-d’oeuvres were delicious. My room personally was elegant yet cozy - also helped that they have a great in room cocktail program! Great location to easily walk to local restaurants, bars, and entertainment within the SLO downtown area. 10/10 would come again!

My husband and I have been coming here since our daughter was at Cal Poly, so about 10 years. We are so happy the new owners have kept the feel of the hotel and such friendly staff. The remodels rooms are comfortable and quieter (new windows maybe?) The breakfasts were delicious as was the wine and appetizers—especially delightful that they still make our favorite spiced nuts (we make them all the time at home from the Petit Soleil cookbook.) We will definitely be back!

Lovely rooms and patios and lounge area, amazing service, especially Julianne and Dante. Julianne in particular was so sweet and accommodating and hustled to help us in a variety of ways on our two night stay. Highly recommend staying here!

Lovely little place. I think they recently remodeled the rooms because ours was very clean and the furnishings were all new. I appreciate their modern yet classic design! Unfortunately, our guest experience was degraded by the current renovations the building is undergoing. Their kitchen was closed, so breakfast was grab-and-go (croissants, coffee, fruit, etc.). I have no idea if we still paid full price for the rooms or not. Petit Soliel is a Bed & Breakfast, and clearly, the homemade breakfast is a huge draw at this place...so that was really disappointing. What's even more disappointing is that we weren't compensated in any small way to make up for it. Maybe a small gift card to the Splash Cafe next door? Just an idea.

Another issue I had during our visit was that when I went to the bathroom one early morning, there was a man at our window. It was extremely alarming as we were on the second floor. I quickly pulled the blind down and remembered they're doing renovations, so I assume the guy was doing work on a ladder. Still, a heads-up would be nice! Another issue is that the water got shut off for about 45 minutes due to a plumbing emergency. This was really annoying since it happened in the late morning, just as we were trying to get ready and head out for the day. My husband went downstairs to inform the front desk about the man at our bathroom window and they gave us a complimentary bottle of wine to make us feel better. The staff was overall very sweet. I'm sure they're all trying to do their best during stressful renovations, but management really needs to improve the guest experience in the midst of all the weird inconveniences. Despite all of this, I look forward to returning and hopefully having a better stay after the renovations are completed.
