California mission with kitchen and chapel in Santa Barbara with a cemetery where many Indians are buried
Built according to the Roman plans of Vitruvius, it was founded in 1786. The tenth of the California missions, it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1812 and rebuilt in 1820. The tour begins with the bedrooms of the former missionaries and their guests, the kitchen and the chapel, before leading into the charming garden. From here, you enter the church and exit through the cemetery, where many Amerindians are buried. Guided tour recommended.
