Zuzu was our goal for getting paella! We ordered the skirt steak which was out of this world amazing! We also got shrimp and the juices and sauces were the best thing I’ve had at any restaurant in a long time! We used bread to dip into the sauce. The paella we chose was the seafood with black rice. It was lack lustre but the seafood was cooked well. We took the shrimp sauce and poured it on the paella to give flavor.
The service was awful, because the server was so quiet…the only thing he said to us right when we got in was “the paella takes 30 minutes” and he said he doesn’t drink which is fine, but recommend something or upsell us on something we would like. He wasn’t the Napa service we expected as we enjoy talking to people and getting recommendations from people here!
Highly recommend making a reservation!
Jamón was super high quality. I loved the boquerón open faced sandwich plating, but it has mayo, so wife didn't care for it. We sat at the bar and service was great. Nice selection of various wines, G&Ts and sherrys.
Sweet little restaurant with the most delicious food. We ordered octopus, ceviche, and bacalao tapas, and then half way through, the Argentina empanada. We are Spainophiles (not a word, but it should be), so a little snooty about Spanish restaurants, but the flavors were very authentic. Wanted to dine here on our last visit, but it was for dinner and there weren't any tables available.
One of my first ever reviews. It was so wonderful to dine here. The service was top notch and so were the dishes. Try the Gambas and the steak. You won’t regret it. A Must try!!
Been here twice and have tried a dozen different items from the menu, loved every one. Very consistently good. They have a large selection of gin cocktails and are happy to use your favorite. The wine list complements the food. They are open in the afternoon and a great place to eat before Blue Note performances.
First time having tapas. The food was great, but unimpressed with the service considering the price tag. It felt very rushed and impersonable. We are in Napa to celebrate my wife’s 50th and chose Zuzu as the place for her bday dinner. No acknowledgment other than a quick happy bday. Felt brushed off. Not a place I’d be back to or recommend to friends regardless of the food quality.
Went to grab a late lunch here. Made us feel we’re in Spain. Outside Spain, this is good. Priced reasonably and just the right amount per serving. Definitely we’ll come back to try their other dishes.
The seafood was very fresh and delicious. The wait time was a bit long. Their menu changed by season so we couldn’t order the lobster which we heard was the best dish.
What a fun tapas bar! We had so many good dishes and the drinks weren’t bad either! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and very personable. Would go back definitely!!
small, but cute restaurant-the food isn't great but it's okay. Portions are good for tapas style. In napa there are so many options, me personally I would skip this one.
First, I would like to say that the restaurant aesthetic is beautiful. And the food was to die for especially the black paella. I tried going to this restaurant Yesterday, but the bartender that took my takeout order, ruined the experience. Am I opinion I feel like she was being very rude and very impatient to the potential takeout order I was. I decided to take a walk down to the restaurant to make a personal takeout order and her attitude continue to Show. My friend and I decided to dine elsewhere because of it. I was really excited to try the food so I then decided to go back the very next night, and I received the same energy from the day before. Which made me leave this review. Like I originally stated, the restaurant is gorgeous on the inside, and has really good aesthetics and the host I must say was extremely nice. It’s just the blonde woman that’s really made my experience pretty horrific.
Great food, service and atmosphere. I recommend a reservation or be ready for a long wait. I planned ahead and made a reservation but it was reassuring that many locals recommend when talking with them. We did not drink because of going to the wineries during the day, so we don’t have a feedback for drinks. We ordered the Paella, Brussels Sprouts and flat iron steak for 2 people. Delicious food!!! I don’t want to be Capitan obvious but some negative reviews mentioned that is small portions, please note that tapas is small plates of Spanish cuisine. For Napa California prices, it was reasonably priced and if we disagree on budgets my apologies but it’s worth it. A local recommended to order the paella immediately because it takes time to prepare, I am glad because it takes 30 minutes to cook, so order it first.
