Itinerant pizzica festival. The event culminates with the great free concert in Melpignano, a small village in Salento.

Since 1998, the Notte della Taranta, a festival of traditional music from Salento, has been held every August. Concerts are held in various towns in the Salento region, which come alive to the rhythm of the pizzica, the traditional music of Puglia. The event culminates in the big free concert in Melpignano, a small village in the Salento countryside. A spellbinding moment of festivity, music and liberating dance, which is becoming increasingly popular: in recent years it has attracted around 200,000 spectators.
