PARQUE DE LOS POETAS

In the city center, next to La Ermita church and the Puente Ortiz (which leads to the Bulevar del Río), this park, inaugurated in 1995, pays homage to the poetry of the Valle del Cauca. The park was inaugurated in 1995 as a tribute to the poetry of the Valle del Cauca. sculptures of poets Jorge Isaacs, Carlos Villafañe, Ricardo Nieto, Antonio Llanos and Octavio Gamboa, created by the artist José Antonio Moreno, can be found there. The last escribadores (public writers) with their typewriters are installed under their umbrellas, among the loteros (lottery ticket sellers) and lustrabotas (shoe shiners).
