Guided tours by biologists, in the botanical garden with palms, heliconias and bamboo varieties
The Botanical Garden of Quindío, created in 1979, has as its objectives conservation, research and environmental education. It has 850 plant species in 15 hectares. During the visit, guided by biologists, you can see palm trees (210 species out of 255 in Colombia), heliconias and varieties of bamboo, including 17 species of guadua. The huge butterfly farm (680 m²), shaped like a butterfly, is the largest in the country. It hosts about 40 species of Lepidoptera.
