Chapel a few hundred meters from Plaza Bolívar, with a collection from the colonial period
A hundred meters from Plaza Bolívar, this chapel, built in 1578, owes its fame to the nun Francisca Josefa de la Concepción Castillo y Guevara (1671-1742), one of the most important writers of the New Granada era. She was a native of Tunja and her grave is located here. The chapel has a collection of paintings from the colonial period, including some by the famous Gregorio Vásquez de Arce y Ceballos.
