Church dedicated to the Holy Cross with an interior adorned with wall paintings, the oldest of which date back to 1450, a must-see

Dedicated to the Holy Cross, Hattula's church is famous as far away as the Kingdom of Denmark. It was built in brick using a method common in central Russia and the Baltic States. The western gable features a brick mask designed to scare off evil spirits. The interior is adorned with murals, the oldest dating back to 1450. In 2021, the church was featured in " Rottien pyhimys" by author Anneli Kanno.
