Oulu is the European Capital of Culture in 2026, with the aim of initiating a cultural and social climate change.
Oulu is the European Capital of Culture in 2026. In collaboration with 39 municipalities in northern Finland, it has created a 1-year program packed with events, artworks and experiences. The message is cultural and climate change through three main themes: Brave Hinterland, Wild City and Cool Contrasts. The aim is to initiate cultural climate change, helping us to reconnect with each other through culture. It underlines the importance of art and culture in the future of cities, villages and regions.
