MUSEUM OF REGIONAL HISTORY (КРАЄЗНАВЧИЙ МУЗЕЙ)

This museum is located in a modern Ukrainian building built between 1903 and 1908, probably one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. The facade is decorated with typical Ukrainian motifs and ceramic applications depicting the coats of arms of the cities in the Poltava area. The museum was founded in 1861, but part of its collections were unfortunately destroyed by Nazi soldiers. It offers a collection of 400 000 objects, including countless coins, tapestries and even pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs).
