The museum occupies a circular form récouvert of a huge canvas 115 m long and 14 m high illustrating the city's fierce defence during the Crimean War, followed, in 1855, by the decisive takeover by the French forces, of the Malakoff Bastion, considerable defensive work that protected Sevastopol.
