The site is a must-see if you want to learn more about Puerto Rico's indigenous culture, their connection to nature, and the island's early inhabitants more generally. The accessible remains at Tibes were only discovered in 1975. They are the oldest in the Caribbean. The park has been open since 1982. The visit, which can be done only in the presence of a guide (in English or Spanish), lasts approximately 1 hour.
