CRUCETA DEL VIGÍA

About 30 meters high, the cross dominates the whole city and even offers an appreciable view of the Caribbean Sea on a clear day. It is located at the top of the hill of Vigía, in front of the Museo Castillo Serrallés. It was built and inaugurated in 1984 to replace a wooden cross that had been there since the 19th century. Made of reinforced concrete, this cross has withstood various natural disasters. Visitors can access the footbridge via glass elevators or a staircase. Tours are organized by the museum.
