First signature of the prestigious W chain in North America, this 5-star hotel was opened in March 2010 for the pleasure of a rather wealthy clientele. The island of Vieques has been chosen to host one of the most expensive and chic establishments in Puerto Rico, with a luxury design on the edge of a beautiful beach. 167 rooms and suites of 7 different types, lookées in a trendy spirit by the Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, offer all the comfort between space, modernity and elegance. Each room has a balcony or a private terrace. You will probably have a preference for those facing the ocean, but not the swimming pool, because maybe a little noisy. The gourmet restaurant Mix on the Beach gives you great surprises: first establishment of Chef Alain Ducasse in the region, he proposes to taste French-Caribbean cuisine accompanied by Puerto rum, while enjoying a delicious view on the turquoise blue horizon. The W also has 3 bars, 2 open beach corners, 3 swimming pools. No matter where you are, you're invited to leave comfortable seats and chairs to all corners of the hotel. The swimming pool overlooking the sea has a lot of success, and you will not be surprised to see, after lunch, a number of guests on the banks surrounding it. As you will have understood, the watchwords here are luxury, relaxation and idleness. It is just a shame that breakfast is only on the map and not in buffet form, but unfortunately it has become the case at all hotels of this type. Moreover, everything that is consumed is extremely expensive. The staff is very friendly and attentive but it still seems to be fairly overloaded, which can make the service sometimes slightly slow and broken. Obviously, there would be a small problem of effectif, which will be put on the account for the time of the recent opening of the establishment. In any case, if you don't come in full season, everything should be done.
