MUSEO CASA DE RIVERA

Classified as a national historic monument, the Casa de Rivera houses the Durazno County History Museum. The house was built in 1836 and completed in 1840. Rivera lived there during his second term as president, and the house became almost the seat of government between 1839 and 1842. Today, the house contains many of the politician's possessions, as well as pieces that provide insight into the region's colonial past. The residence has preserved its original appearance by keeping its period furniture.
