MUSEO DE BELLAS ARTES Y ARTES DECORATIVAS

At the Museum of Fine Arts and Decorative Arts, you will discover paintings from Salto and Uruguayan artists: José Cuneo, Vicente Martín, Adolfo Pastor, José Cziffery, Julio Verdié, and others! One can also admire a ballot box carved by Stephan Erzia containing the ashes of the region's greatest writer Horacio Quiroga. This museum is housed in an ancient manor house of the beginning of the century whose wood staircase was carved by the famous artisan Paccot.
