At the Museum of Fine and Decorative Arts, you'll discover paintings by Salto and Uruguayan artists: José Cuneo, Vicente Martín, Adolfo Pastor, José Cziffery, Julio Verdié and others! Also on display is an urn sculpted by Stephan Erzia containing the ashes of the region's greatest writer, Horacio Quiroga. The museum is housed in a former turn-of-the-century manor house with a wooden staircase carved by the famous craftsman Paccot.
