PUENTE INTERNACIONAL GENERAL SAN MARTÍN

The San Martin bridge allows you to cross the Uruguay River, the border between Uruguay and Argentina, to reach the Argentine city of Gualeguaychú, famous for its colorful carnival in January and February. The customs are located at this level. During the so-called "paper war" between 2007 and 2010, the bridge was blocked many times. Argentina was protesting the installation of a pulp mill in Fray Bentos, which could pollute the river.
