Natural site to discover

Located about 20 minutes by car from the city center, this 150-hectare nature reserve invites you to stroll along its shaded trails lined with native species and to observe the local wildlife. Among the 60 animal species present in the park are alligators, coatis, field deer and collared peccaries (the latter are particularly fond of being petted). The main objective of the park is to protect and breed wild species in order to reintroduce them into their natural habitat.

ROOSEVELT PARK

Natural site to discover

The park was inaugurated in 1942 by Don Guillermo Ruggia according to the structure of the soil, whose geological formation took place, according to specialists, more than 35 million years ago. It has pleasant paths that can be walked and can easily be combined with a walk along the Rambla. There is also a statue of the bust of the Uruguayan poet Dr. Juan Zorilla de San Martin. And to top it all off, the Teatro de Verano, which evokes the architecture of the ancient Greek theaters, is sure to dazzle you.
