Now restored, the gate located in front of the current Plaza de 1811, was inaugurated in 1745 during the regency of the Portuguese governor Vasconcellos. He was also the great instigator of the construction of the city and the development of its activities. Together with the gate and the bridge, the pillars, the fort and the other walls and pavements are a center of notable historical interest. The ruins of the old fortress(fortaleza or ciudadela) that surrounded the city can be admired all along the Rambla.

Porte séparant 2 parties de la ville, enjambant un petit fossé avec un pont de bois et traversant des remparts très épais qui délimité la ville. Vous pouvez monter sur les remparts pour avoir un meilleure vue d'ensemble.
