CUARTEL DE LOS DRAGONES

This military construction has a real historical importance due to the fact that from 1797 onwards, it housed the cavalry unit of the Viceroyalty of the River Plate, nicknamed the "Buenos Aires Dragoon Regiment". Later, two other military units were established there, including the Blandengues Corps of the Eastern Band, where the national hero José Gervasio Artigas began his career. It has rooms and a chapel that surround a large courtyard and today houses the Museo Didáctico Artiguista, where themed exhibitions are held.
