Francisco Piria Castle was built by the architect Monzani in 1897. At that time he was the residence of the founder of the city. It is a brick built castle surrounded by palm trees. He is now converted to a national historic museum containing antique furniture, photographs and mural paintings on the history of the city. Guided tours are organized.
