CALLE EMILIO REUS
Also known as the Jewish Quarter, this area owes its name to Emilio Reus, a Spanish businessman born in 1858, who was responsible for building housing for workers. He became famous for his construction work in the capital and is even referred to as the "Reus era". Part of Emilio Reus Street is now an attraction and one of the symbols of the city; the facades and walls of the beautiful houses that have been repainted by local artists give it a festive air. The buildings were declared a national historic monument in 1986.
