EDIFICIO MERCOSUR

Approaching Playa Ramírez, one cannot help but be struck by the splendor of this imposing building. Built in 1909 as a luxury hotel, the Parque Hotel was renovated to become the current headquarters of Mercosur. Located on Rodó Park Boulevard, this emblematic building now houses the offices of various international organizations and is considered an architectural gem in Montevideo. Designed by architect Juan Antonio Scasso, it has an eclectic architecture, combining elements of neoclassical, Beaux-Arts and Art Nouveau styles.
