Family apartments, rooms and campsites in a lodge with a pool at the former Uis Mine Recreation Center.

The former recreation centre at the Uis mine has been converted into a gîte with five family apartments, four double rooms (single and clean) and about ten camping sites. Here the sunset can be enjoyed from the top of the mine's spoil heaps, with a view of the Brandberg, the highest mountain in the country. The large complex surprises with its almost Olympic-style swimming pool and its large common room. It is possible to discover the rock paintings and to track down desert elephants with Basil, the owner.

Sehr gute campsite wenn man auf der Durchreise ist. Es ist alles sauber und ordentlich. In dem Pub auf dem Gelände kann man ein ordentliches Abendessen für wenig Geld bekommen.

Great AC and comfy beds. Very basic though and our shower didn’t even have a shower head, just a pipe spraying water.
Breakfast was average and the whole camp was very loud. Minimal facilities, wouldn’t recommend for anything other than a nights sleep on the road.

Waren schon das vierte Mal dort und werden auch wieder kommen ????. Machen hier sehr gerne einen kurzen Zwischenstopp bevor's nach Swakop weiter geht. Basel, der Chef, ist sehr sympathisch und geht auf Wünsche ein. ????☺️????
