The mine is an open-pit mine and offers the opportunity to observe the uranium extraction process.

Visits to the mine and crater organised by the Swakopmund Museum are by reservation only. There is a bus connection of about 55 km. The mine, which has the peculiarity of being an open pit, offers the rare opportunity to observe the uranium mining work. The view of the amphitheatre formed by the working of the ground is impressive from above, as is the size of the machines. And don't worry: you won't be exposed to radioactivity during this unusual visit.
