FORTERESSE MILITAIRE DE VITZNAU

Here's an unusual place! The fortress was built inside the Rigi cliffs as part of the Gotthard defense during the Second World War. The site was kept secret for a long time, until 1998, when it was officially recognized as no longer of military interest, and converted into a hotel and museum. Guided tours are given by former soldiers, and overnight stays are booked in a large communal dormitory.
